Since Fall of 2021, Laulima Garden ‘Ohana has hosted Monday programs for the community to join us in supporting our growing garden. And this summer, we are offering a weekly drop-in event on Mondays from 9am to 12pm, led by one of our lead farmers, Jason Dennis!
Join us for a weekly community-building and casual learning experience, while helping us with some basic gardening on our private property in Haiku!
About our Leader:
Jason Dennis shares his wealth of wisdom and passion for soil regeneration and vermicomposting with our Junior Farmers as well as participants of our weekly Apprenticeship program. An ex professional athlete turned farmer, Jason is a Soil Food Web graduate, soil wellness consultant & permaculture advocate, as well as a father of 2 and inspiration to people in his community as a transformative example of courageous & sustainable growing methods.
Here’s what some of our past Volunteers and Apprentices have said of our Monday workday!
Laulima Garden ‘Ohana is the educational garden branch of our larger non-profit Maui ‘Ohana Collective, which serves the community by way of providing Homeschool Resource Services, Hawaiian Cultural Education, and Alternative Health & Special Education by way of ‘Ohana Lapa ‘au. Help us by donating.
